MATSAPHA:Tokky Hou, the Managing Director(MD)at Far East Textiles is accused of failing to pay gratuity for constructively dismissed employees.

This comes after several employees at the textile company resigned citing unfair labour practice.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, Wander Mkhonza, the Secretary General of the Amalgamated Trade Union of Swaziland (ATUSWA) confirmed the matter adding that the Managing Director was known for violation workers rights.

“This proves beyond any reasonable doubt that businesses are out to destroy workers, including Business Eswatini which Far East is affiliated to.It is just a pity that the workers at Far East are not doing enough to be represented by our organization,”said the Secretary General.

Reached for comments,Tokkey Hou,the Director of Far East Textiles and the Chairperson of Business Women Eswatini  denied the allegations levelled against her.

“This is news to us,we have no one on record that was refused what is due to them or turned away by security for that matter. Procedures are in place for  people leaving the company.A letter of resignation even if you have left the company without  notice is required together with your banking details signed and hand delivered by yourself,”she said.
