Pro-democracy MPs’ lawyer Sicelo Mngomezulu, Bheki Mabuza visit PUDEMO President after
MBABANE: Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer representing incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube visited Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) after the State bombed his home.
Reached for comments, the lawyer confirmed the visit adding that the President remained resolute and firm in his beliefs to escalate the calls for democratic reforms.
“With MP Bacede’s brother Bheki Mabuza, we met the President on Tuesday morning and he told us that he understands that what he is going through is part of the journey to democracy. He told us that at least, he is alive, others lost their lives and in their honour, we must continue to fight for democracy,” said the lawyer.
Mlungisi Makhanya, the PUDEMO President told this Swaziland News earlier on Tuesday that the State allegedly switched-off electricity before bombing his home.
The bombing comes a few days after this publication released ‘intercepted’ cellphone conversations where King Mswati’s Governor Themba Ginindza confirmed that they were training a squad to bomb political activists and their properties.
