MBABANE: Dr Siphetfo Dlamini, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO), says as an organization, they remain focused in fighting for democratic reforms.

Responding to our questions on Thursday, Dlamini said the leaked audio was very unfortunate but it couldn’t stop the movement from pursuing its political goals and objectives.

Dlamini and SWALIMO Chairperson Busie Mayisela criticized the leadership style of their President Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane, they labelled him a dictator who cannot lead a country.

“Right now the organization wants to assure the people of Swaziland that it remains firm in aligning its goals with the broader Mass Democratic Movment - particularly in ensuring that our innocent incarcerated MPs are released from the gruesome chains of injustices and both political and economic power resides with the people of Swaziland, thats the broader goal,” said the SWALIMO Secretary General.

Dlamini said the leaked audio brought some positives within the movement and thanked the leadership and members for their support.

The Secretary General then expressed support for the jobs and scholarships for all protest organized by the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS).

“SWALIMO wants to also ensure that it supports, participates and be in solidarity with SNUS's campaign tomorrow for scholarships and jobs, and its broader call for a just education system that will service our people well and put in place ethical and fair practices in the education sector. We have not started fighting for freedom if our youth will not be prioritized, hence the organization means business in supporting and capacitating the country’s youth through anticipated programmes that will create a conducive environment for the future of our young people,” he said.
