MBABANE: King Mswati deployed a battalion of police officers to shoot protesting University students for demanding jobs and scholarships for all.
The students were peacefully marching in the streets of the capital city, Mbabane on Friday when the police started the shooting.
Police Spokesperson Superintendent Phindile Vilakati declined to the comment regarding the shooting.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) confirmed the shooting.
“As we speak, a battalion of police officers are surrounding the Mbabane UNESWA Campus, any student who tries to come out is shot,” said the Students President.
