NKWENE:Welcome Mdluli, the President of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) has confirmed that Nkwene clinic has been closed.
Insiders told this Swaziland News on Monday morning that the health facility has been closed amid various challenges that include a leaking roof and the bursting of a pipe.
“The roofing is leaking and medication was recently destroyed by rains. Government has been struggling to renovate it,”said an insider.
It has been disclosed that apart from the leaking roof, a pipe subsequently burst on Monday making it extremely difficult for the provision of services within the health facility to continue.
“It’s true, the facility has been closed due to a burst pipe,”said the Nurses Union President.
Reached for comments,Health Minister Lizzie Nkosi said she was in a meeting and asked this journalist to send a message.
“Im in a meeting.Please send a message,” she said.
The Minister later sent a text message to this journalist and promised to check and respond thereafter.
“Let me check what has been done will come back to you,”said the Health Minister.
The health crisis erupted in eSwatini after Mswati’s Government failed to maintain health facilities, provide drugs and further hire health workers permanently.
