Researcher Dr Wisdom Dlamini gets Science Achievement Award.

MBABANE: Researcher Dr Wisdom Dlamini has been honored with the first ever Kingdom of Eswatini Academy of Science (KEAS) Achievement Award. 

Dr Dlamini was honored by Phesheya Dube, the Principal Secretary(PS)in the Ministry of Information,Communication and Technology(ICT)during the inaugural KEAS Research Conference held this week under the theme ‘'Fostering collaboration between Scientists in Eswatini, the ICT PS was represented by Nqoba Msibi.

“The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini has prioritised research, as mentioned in the Post COVID-19 Recovery Strategy, the National Development Plan and the National Research Council Bill to ensure harmonisation of research in the Kingdom.Evidently, a knowledge based economy holds promise to socio-economic growth, propels innovation and technological advancement. In order to champion this economy, research is a prerequisite. The past two years have cemented and emphasised the importance of research.I would like to reiterate the importance of working together for a sustainable and inclusive development. I encourage academia, industry and policy makers to support one another and leverage on the potential of each sector,”said the PS through his representative as quoted by Government online platforms.

Government online platforms further reported that conference saw researchers from different institutions delivering their published scientific research from the Biodiversity, Chemistry, Environment and Agriculture and the Mathematics, Computation and Modelling disciplines.
