After the dramatic events that resulted to junior police officers stopping the arrest of their Secretary General Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo, perhaps Senior Superintendent Clement Sihlongonyane was able to read the country’s political barometer.
The police service is now dominated by educated police officers who understand their rights, they knew that the arrest of Sergeant Khumalo was politically motivated and decided to stop it.
Perhaps, one would have expected that they would hire a lawyer, run to court to challenge the warrant of arrest but the cops just said NO and stopped it physically.
Now, Superintendent Sihlongonyane has added junior officers in his list of enemies, like the late Deputy Sam Mthembu, one day Sihlongonyane will be history.
No single Judge or Magistrate can rule in favour of the police in such situations where the judicial system has been captured.
The junior police officers proved even to Judges and Magistrates that they are nothing without them.
Court orders are enforced by the police so without the police, Judges and Magistrates are powerless.
The Magistrate who signed the warrant of arrest against Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo must be investigated, exposed and face consequences.
Police officers are within their rights to demand a salary increment, we don’t expect captured Magistrates and Judges to interfere and violate human rights.
What happened on Thursday evening where armed police officers stopped the arrest of Sergeant Khumalo should be an eye opener to loyalists of the regime that things have changed.
This is not even a political issue but a purely labour matter, where officers are demanding a salary increment from their employer.
But people like Clement Sihlongonyane thought police officers are still stupid and ignorant.

Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo.
