MBABANE: Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo says the office of the Attorney General(AG) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are busy writing letters seeking assistance to arrest and extradite Swazis who are committing what he described as terrorism acts in eSwatini.
Speaking to Channel S TV on Monday, Nxumalo said as SADC countries, they signed agreements to work together in fighting terrorism adding that no country must be allowed to habour terrorists who are smuggling guns from eSwatini.
“We are writing letters to SADC seeking assistance to have these terrorists arrested and extradited to face the law,” said the Government Spokesperson.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis after King Mswati unleashed his security forces to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms. This resulted in the establishment of the pro-democracy Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF), an underground unit currently targeting security officers with an intention of protecting civilians from being killed by Mswati’s Government.
