MBABANE: Princess Sikhanyiso, the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) said as government ,they have an obligation to protect Swazis from online cyber attacks.
On Monday, the Information Minister who was represented by Under Secretary Macanjana Motsa, addressed a double launch of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and the Eswatini National Cybersecurity Strategy 2022-2027.
“EmaSwati are increasingly adopting digital technologies and spending more time online. Our growing dependence on technology, coupled with the ever-growing threat of cyber-attacks, demands greater awareness and better security practices in our online world.As we continue with our task of protecting emaSwati online, there is a growing need to have a solid legislative environment. This will ensure safe online transactions, the protection of personal and sensitive data as well as ensure the deterrence of cybercrime,”said the Minister as quoted by eSwatini Government online platforms.
