MBABANE: Sandra LaNgwenya, the Executive member of the Police Staff Association has confirmed a statement where junior police officers resolved not to shoot or assault protestors who will march, demanding the release of incarcerated Members of Parliament(MPs)Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube next week.

In a meeting held at the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) Centre on Saturday, the Police Staff Association further resolved to expose their colleagues who will shoot or assault civilians during the protest.

“REPOSA is fully awake to the fact that the members of the public in their diverse spectrum will be peacefully protesting the arrests of pro-democracy members of parliament on the day of our slowdown. We want to inform the public that  REPOSA members will not block them in any way whatsoever on the said day and whoever will do so will be exhibiting traits of a sell-out and should not be treated as a member of REPOSA. We also want to warn police officers who will dare lay a hand on protestors that we will expose them for who they are and let them deal with the wrath of members of the public. We are tired of being random scapegoats for other people’s negligence,” reads the statement in part.

The junior police officers further thanked SNAT for welcoming and allowing them to hold their meeting at SNAT Centre despite the persecution they suffered at the hands of the police.

“We would like to thank the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) for allowing us to host the meeting at their conference room despite all the sufferings they have endured at the hands of police officers in the country,” reads the statement released by the Police Staff Association on Saturday.
