Monday, 14th November, 2022

PIGG’S PEAK: “All Fire and Emergency Department employees are hereby banned from disturbing our revolutionary work by attending to emergencies as we work towards crippling the State”.

These were the sentiments of the Commander of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) when speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday morning.

This comes shortly after his forces fired shots at the Pigg’s Peak Fire and Emergency before proceeding to burn the Pigg’s Peak Magistrate Court and the Central Transport Administration(CTA) in the early hours on Monday, the operation started on Sunday evening.

“The revolution we are waging is not a sectarian revolution where the work of the forces are not linked to the broader political work that is taking place. What is happening in Swaziland is a political crisis and we, in the forces understand that.We are working very closely with our comrades who are being exploited, working in the Fire and Emergency Services Department. In yesterday's operation (Sunday),we wanted to make sure that the few workers, working there who are not cooperating, find themselves on the firing line and be killed if ever they react to emergencies that involves our revolutional work. So our strict warning to the few workers who work at the Fire Department is that don’t dare respond and react when we execute revolutionary tasks,” said the SISF Commander.

A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis after King Mswati unleashed his soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
