MBABANE: Senator Themba Masuku, the Acting Prime Minister says Government would use all available resources to provide security amid threats of a mass protest on Tuesday.
Tension is escalating in this tiny Kingdom of eSwatini after King Mswati unleashed his police and soldiers to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democracy, the King subsequently refused to participate in a political dialogue.
Members of the public are expected to march to the High Court, demanding the release of incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube, the MPs were arrested by Mswati’s police for demanding democratic reforms.
“We continue to assure the public at large as well as the business community that we will do all in our power, using all resources available, to provide the necessary protection. We have a very professional and committed security sector that has served this Nation well. I know that when faced with anger, aggression, and provocation, they will remain calm while executing their duties professionally.Therefore, we urge emaSwati to go to work and children to go to school as tomorrow is a normal working day,” said the Acting Prime Minister when speaking during a press conference held at the Cabinet offices on Monday.
