MBABANE: Tibetse Mnisi, the public transport worker who uttered the now famous “no-out of-this, no work” statement has urged all public transport employees to get ready for another national shutdown on the 13th December 2022.
Mnisi became famous within two(2)hours last week after leading a protest by public transport workers, his “no out of this-no work” sentiments meant there would be no operations if their arrested colleagues were not released.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Saturday evening, Mnisi said this time, it would be “No out of our MPs, no work”.
“As public transport workers,we want the MPs out of prison,so we will stage another shutdown,”he said.
The now famous public transport worker said he was shot on the arm by the police while fighting for the release of his arrested colleagues but clarified that he would again, lead another protest demanding the release of the MPs.
Mnisi was at the forefront during a protest in Manzini last week, demanding the release of his colleagues who were arrested for assault, the public transport workers were eventually released on bail.
It has been disclosed that this time, the public transport workers will push for the release of MPs Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube,who were arrested by King Mswati’s police for demanding democracy, they are facing politically motivated terrorism charges.
On another note, Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku has been pleading with Swazis not to take orders from ‘faceless’ people who want to cause anarchy in the country.
This comes after public transport workers grounded operations on Tuesday and Wednesday this week,in support of the incarcerated MPs.
