MBABANE: The R6million rice donated by the Republic of China on Taiwan will be used to campaign for elected Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament(MP) who are supporting the Tinkhundla system of Governance.

This was revealed by an MP who is very close to the matter after this Swaziland News, quoting an online article published by the eSwatini Observer, reported on Thursday that Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang announced a donation of rice worth R6million.

“If you can do a thorough analysis of how this rice is distributed. It is mainly given to the Ministers constituencies as a campaign tool. Then to the MPs that are pro-Tinkhundla system of government. The constituencies of the Pro-democracy MPs are never even considered. So this is not meant for all Swazis it’s a political tool meant to sustain the regime and its surrogates. So don’t let the Taiwanese fool the country and the international community as if they care for the needy in Swaziland indiscriminately.  No, they have an agenda that is more economical in nature. It’s beyond diplomatic relations. The arrival of the consignment is well timed and it’s meant for those MPs that they want retained in order for them to continue pushing their agenda. That Ambassador is a wicked fellow. Some constituents have never ever benefitted from the Taiwanese rice simply because their MPs hold a different when it comes to the country’s governance. Lapha Sibongela all the elected Ministers nabo Mabhanisi nabo Madala and company,” said the MP whose name cannot be revealed for ethical reasons.

On another note, Ambassador Liang said the donation meant as Taiwan, they were ready to go above and beyond to strengthen food security through cooperative initiatives that benefit Emaswati.

“The government and the people of Taiwan have made it their mission to help Eswatini mitigate the effects on those most vulnerable,” said the Ambassador as quoted by the eSwatini Observer online platforms.

Reached for comments by this Swaziland News,Sibongile Mazibuko, the President of the Ngwane National Liberatory Congress(NNLC)urged the Republic of China Taiwan to contribute towards an inclusive and meaningful political dialogue that will ensure a better life for all Swazis.

“As much as we appreciate this donation, we urge Taiwan to contribute towards an inclusive and meaningful political dialogue that will ensure a better life for all Swazis,” said the NNLC President.
