MBABANE: Senator Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku,the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) came hard on pro-democracy groups for planning a national shutdown next week,as the second wave of the political unrest intensifies in this tiny Kingdom

of eSwatini.

Addressing journalists during a press conference held at the Cabinet offices, Mbabane on Tuesday afternoon, the DPM described those planning the 13th December 2022 national shutdown as irresponsible individuals and pressure groups,who enjoy and take pleasure in seeing people suffer while they benefit immensely from resources provided by their inconsiderate handlers.

“The people who want or are planning to disrupt transport have only one objective, that is to destroy the lives and the livelihoods of emaSwati by depriving them of all the services that are needed in this country in various critical sectors.Government will continue to discharge its paramount mandate and responsibility to protect the Nation from deprivation of their constitutional rights by a few individuals and pressure organisations who harbour dangerous ulterior and selfish motives without any known plan to improve livelihoods of the people,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
