MBABANE: Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane, a former Member of Parliament(MP) says he is in the process of identifying and appointing pro-democracy leaders to stand for King Mswati’s undemocratic elections.
The pro-Tinkhundla former MP is the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO), his senior Executive members resigned to form their own political party, after accusing him of being a dictator by appointing individuals and imposing his ideas.
“I am in the process of identifying capable leaders who will give Mswati a headache, one of them is Mbongwa.I am still convincing him,” said the SWALIMO leader when speaking in his online programme.
But Mbongwa Dlamini, the President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) said he was not interested in Mswati’s elections but wanted freedom and elections under a multiparty democracy.
King Mswati appoints ten(10) Members of Parliament and twenty(20) Senators, however, the former MP has vowed to ‘identify’ and or appoint his own MPs who would then stand for elections.
Eswatini is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch, political parties are banned from participating in elections.
