MBABANE: Lizzie Nkosi, the Minister of Health has announced six more confirmed cases of COVID-19 from the Manzini region as number jumps to 65.
In press statement released on Monday, the Minister noted that for the past three days the confirmed cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases and are asymptomatic.
"The cases confirmed over the past 3 days are mostly contacts of those cases who have been confirmed prior.This shows the need to practice social distancing and avoiding being together in groups. It should be noted that all the cases diagnosed over the past 3 days are all asymptomatic which also indicates that the coronavirus is spreading in the country through people who may not be aware that they have contracted it” she said through the statement.
She then revealed that the Manzini region has 44 confirmed cases, followed by Hhohho at 16, Lubombo with 3 and lastly Shiselweni with only 2 confirmed cases.It has been disclosed that a full lockdown has been implemented by the government to try and mitigate the spread of the virus.
