MBABANE:Nonhlanhla Dlamini, the former Ludzeludze Member of Parliament(MP) has urged Swazis to participate in the coming elections if they wanted to influence democratic reforms.

Speaking during a debate on the Swaziland News online platforms, the Executive Director of the Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA) said the dangers of boycotting elections is that they would take place and those elected would take decisions on behalf of those who decided to boycott.

“In my personal view,Swazis must participate in the coming elections to influence democratic reforms. We must also respect each other as we express our views on this matter, those who want to participate in the elections must tolerate the views of those who want to boycott. On the other hand, those who want to boycott must tolerate the views of those who want to participate”, said the former MP.

The SWAGAA Executive Director further emphasized on the issue of the political dialogue, she said issues of the elections and dialogue must be discussed simultaneously.

On another note, Sikelela Dlamini, the Secretary General of the MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF) said as an organization, they took a decision to boycott Tinkhundla elections and advocate for democratic elections.
