MBABANE: Namibian High Court Judge Thomas Masuku says the late human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko was vocal against his persecution by the then Chief Justice Michael Ramodibedi.

In an online statement confirmed by the Judge to this Swaziland News, Justice Masuku said he first met the renowned human rights lawyer while he was a part-time Law Lecturer at the University of Swaziland.

“I was later to meet Thulani and a number of his former colleagues at the High Court of Swaziland after their admission as attorneys of the Courts of Swaziland. It is only natural, I would think, for a lecturer or teacher to have a sense of pride when his or her students make great strides in life. I took personal pride in his admission, together with other former students of mine and I will not mention them one by one. I am proud to say that for the most part, most of my former students continue in paths of legal and judicial virtue, which brings a smile of pride to my aging face. I hope it remains that way. It is my fervent hope that they remember some of the lessons we went through, particularly in dealing with Legal Ethics. Thulani remembered not to forget those,”said the Judge.
