GABORONE:Senator Mancoba Khumalo, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo addressed the AfCFTA Council of Ministers Responsible for Trade, Government online platforms reported on Monday.
AfCFTA stands for African Continental Free Trade Area, the organization was established through the Continental Free Trade Agreement.
Minister Khumalo in his capacity as the Chairperson of the South African Customs Union(SACU)Ministers of Trade, addressed the meeting that was held in Botswana over the weekend.
“Minister Khumalo’s submission was on the finalisation of SACU’s tariff schedule offer under the AfCFTA. He indicated that SACU Members had finalised internal negotiations on the AfCFTA Tariff Offer which meets the level of ambition of 90% for Category A products, which are those to be liberalised immediately,”reads a Government online report.
