MBABANE:Wandile Dludlu,the Secretary General of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has on behalf of the political organization,called for targeted sanctions against King Mswati,his family and senior members of the security forces.
This comes after the European Parliament passed a resolution urging the EU to consider suspending funding to the Kingdom of eSwatini amid the killing of civilians by Mswati.
Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
The sentiments of the PUDEMO Secretary General were supported by Dr Siphetfo Dlamini, the Deputy President of the Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF) when speaking to this Swaziland News on Thursday.
“PUDEMO calls for total isolation of this regime through smart targeted sanctions particularly the head of this regime together with his entire family, military and police bureaucrats who have murdered mercilessly over 250 of our people, injured permanently over 300 whilst arrested not only the 3 pro-democracy MPS but over 1000 Protesters in the last 24 months.
We Demand democracy and justice for all Swazis urgently so and let the world stop egg walking around truth on the question of this tin pot despot,” reads the statement released by PUDEMO.
