MPAKA: His Excellency Jeremy Liang, the Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan says youth empowerment remains essential or important for the development of any country.
Speaking during the official launch of the TVET Programme at Mpaka Vocational Training Centre on Thursday, the Ambassador said young people are the future hence the importance of empowering them with tools to develop themselves.
According to Government online platforms, the programme, supported by Taiwan to the tune of R5.1million will focus on mind-set change, support to Technical Vocation Education graduates in the form of start-up kits and further accelerate funding for youth in informal business trade among others.
“Youth Empowerment is crucial for any developing country because young people are the future. We need to give young people the tools they need to become productive citizens who help build the country. We must continue to exert greater effort to ensure that our young people receive the assistance and direction they require to realise their full potential,”said the Ambassador as quoted by eSwatini Government online platforms.
On another note, Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini encouraged communities to give young graduates business.
”Likewise,Government is encouraged to consider allocating certain portions of capital projects to these young people so that they can develop and grow. Let’s have a list of youth contractors,” said the Prime Minister.
