MBABANE: Acting Prime Minister Pholile Shakantu has emphasized the need to empower women and promote diversity in the private and public sector.
The Acting PM was speaking during the Commemoration of the International Women’s Day on Wednesday where she was representing Deputy Prime Minister Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku.
“Diversity in the private sector, public sector, business and politics is important because it boosts the quality of decision making.Evidence is clear on the economic and developmental gains of all countries who have invested in the inclusion of women in all the integral spheres of development.Access to the internet is of critical concern given the cost of data in Eswatini. The digital divide remains a challenge in that as the country makes strides in its digital transformation agenda, this needs to advance all emaSwati,and not only those with the means,” said the Acting PM as quoted by Government online platforms.
