MBABANE:Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini says Eswatini through the Ministry of Health has made great efforts to meet regional and global Tuberculosis(TB)targets.
Speaking during the World TB Day Commemoration last week, the PM who was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku said the country also managed to be one of the first to achieve this milestone of reducing TB burden by half.
“This has been through the commitment of Government and health development partners which has seen TB and health services in general being decentralised and brought closer to the communities to improve universal access through modern tests(diagnostics),quality medicines and highly trained personnel. The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini is currently engaged in developing an ambitious national TB strategic plan that will run from 2024-2028.The strategic plan will end only two years before the desired elimination of TB in 2030,”said the PM as quoted by Government online platforms.
