MBABANE: Senator Themba Masuku, the Acting Prime Minister has expressed support for the United Kingdom(UK), following a decision by commercial banks in that country to close bank accounts of non-residents.
Addressing the media on Friday,the Acting PM said this decision by the UK Government will help in combating money laundering and fighting terrorism, he warned emaSwati to desist from supporting activities that promotes either money laundering or financing of terrorists acts.
“Government wishes to warn emaSwati to desist from participating and supporting any activities that promote either money laundering or financing of terrorist acts. Those that are hiding behind the scenes and sponsoring terrorist activities will soon be unmasked and face the consequences for their actions.Government will continue to endeavour to make Eswatini a peaceful country as has always been the case. I urge all emaSwati to unite and stand together as we collectively fight against terrorism,”said the Acting Prime Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
