MBABANE:Patients are literally stranded here at Mbabane Government hospital amid reports suggesting that public health institutions are facing shortage of drugs.
On Thursday, patients pictured at the hospital sitting helplessly waiting for medication, health workers were not attending to them.
Efforts to reach Health Minister Lizzie Nkosi proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments earlier, Mayibongwe Masangwane, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) said the situation has reached a crisis level within the hospitals.
“We have been warning the public that hospitals are facing shortage of medication and we tried to raise awareness through protests. The public must just rise-up and demand the drugs from government,” said the Nurses Union President.
