MBABANE: Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson says the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Electoral Mission arrived in eSwatini with its own agenda to engage with the banned political parties, among other key stakeholders.
Speaking to the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) this week, the Government Spokesperson said for this reason, government took serious exemption with the arrival of the SADC Electoral Mission in the country.
“They arrived here with their own program to engage even with the proscribed political parties who use violent means to advance their political agenda, we had a problem with that,” said the Government Spokesperson.
The SABC interviewed Nxumalo subsequent to a press statement, where Government informed the Nation that the SADC Electoral Mission was not invited hence it must be ignored.
The Government Spokesperson told the SABC that eSwatini was a member not a province of SADC hence, it’s Electoral Mission cannot just enter the country with its own agenda.
“As we speak, the SADC Mission is in eSwatini hard at work, we only had a problem with them meeting the proscribed political entities,”said the Government Spokesperson.
