MBABANE: Nomalungelo Simelane known as LaZwide, the Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) is highly expected to leave Parliament without moving a single motion,in demand for democracy.
The MP who was voted into power around August 2022, was mandated to amplify calls for democracy, however, she failed to move a single pro-democracy motion.
The King is highly expected to dissolve Parliament in the coming weeks.
A questionnaire was sent to the MP where she was asked to clarify whether she moved any pro-democracy motion or not, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, political parties that include the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) urged the public to boycott the elections as those who are elected will not change the Tinkhundla systems from within.
The MP was paid over fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00) per-month and the money adds-up to over five hundred thousand Rands(R500,000.00) when calculated from the date of her election victory.
