MBABANE: Senator Mancoba Khumalo, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade has urged re-elected Board of Directors and the Supervisory Committee of the National Cooperative Federation of Eswatini (NCFE) to work towards sustainable growth.
According to eSwatini Government online platforms, the NCFE known as Ingcongwane Yelubambiswano is made up of members of the three(3) Apex bodies; the Eswatini National Youth Cooperative Alliance (ESNYCA), Eswatini Association of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (ESASCCO) and the Eswatini Multi-Purpose Co-operative Union (ESWAMCU).
“May I remind you that the Cooperatives Act 2003 gives you a mandate to develop all types of Cooperatives in various sectors of the economy. The ministry therefore expects to see sustainable and autonomous Cooperatives across all sectors of the economy.The economy needs Cooperatives that will not only produce raw materials, but ones which will sell the end product in the market place. The economy needs funding, investments and savings which all readily available at your disposal in your SACCOS,” said the Commerce Minister when meeting members of the NCFE Board this week.
The NCFE Board members include Sifiso Mhlongo (President), Hezekiel Thwala (Vice President), Thulani Magongo (General Secretary) and Mandla Masuku (Treasurer). Members are Thamsanqa Phakathi, Bayanda Khumalo, Thulisile Nxumalo, Zanele Fakudze, Silindile Mkhonto and Kenneth Masuku.
Supervisory Committee Members are: Nomsa Sukati (Chairperson), Makhosonkhe Lukhele (Secretary) and Sthembiso Simelane (Member).
