MBABANE: Mzwandile Dlamini, the aspiring Nkwene Member of Parliament(MP) has pleaded with the media not to associate him with the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) ahead of elections as he long resigned from that political organization.

Speaking to this Swaziland News when interviewed by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Monday evening, the aspiring MP said despite his resignation from SWALIMO, he strongly believed that the country must be democratized and that being in Parliament can influence democratic changes.

“If nominated, I will be an independent candidate not pushing the interests of SWALIMO but emaSwati. I resigned from SWALIMO because I felt the organization was not subscribing to democratic principles yet I strongly believe organizations who fight for democracy must demonstrate adherence to democratic principles,” said the aspiring Nkwene MP.

Dlamini is highly expected to face, among others, former MP Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, Siboniso Hlatswako(Inyatsi employee), Inspector of schools Thulani Simelane, businessman Obri Mamba and ex-miner Mandla Mkhwanazi.

Other candidates include ,ex-miner Vusi Shongwe and the current MP Vulimpompi Nhleko.
