MANZINI: Dr Thambo Gina, the Minister of Economic Planning and Development says, the ongoing Youth Empowerment Program facilitated by the United Nations Development Program(UNDP) will create sustainable jobs for the young people.
Speaking during the tour here at the Manzini Industrial Training Centre (MITC) on Tuesday morning, where ninety(90) young people are undertaking artisanal skills training as part of the Eswatini Youth Empowerment Programme (EYEP), the Economic Planning and Development Minister emphasized on the importance of job security.
The Minister further advised the trainees to look for jobs in highly successful organizations that make sustainable profits.
“This is the way to create gainful employment opportunities for the youth, when you graduate here; you must work for good companies or be self-employed, we wish you all the best," said the Minister of Economic Planning and Development.
Other high profile figures who attended the event include, Resident Representative Rose Sebetindira and Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Khumalo among others.
According to the Media advisory statement sent to Swaziland News this week by the UNDP, a total of four hundred and forty-two(442) people expressed interest and applied for the initiative, ninety(90)young people were selected and this include forty-one(41)men and forty-nine(49)women.
