EZULWINI: His Excellency Earl Miller, the United States of America(USA) Embassy eSwatini Charge d’ Affairs says, he was grateful to celebrate the two-hundred and forty-seven(247) years of US Independence “in this beautiful” country.
Speaking during the US Independence celebration held at Ezulwini on Thursday, Miller highlighted some of the key achievements of the partnership between Eswatini and the US such as the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief(PEPFAR)program that has saved the lives of tens of thousands of emaSwati.
“This year alone we opened a new American Corner in Manzini, sent 10 brilliant emaSwati to the U.S. on the Mandela Washington Fellowship program, launched a series of entrepreneurship incubator programs, and renovated schools”, said the US Charge d’ Affairs as quoted by the Embassy’s online platforms.
King Mswati was represented by Prince Gcina during the US Independence celebration.
On another note, His Excellency Miler further mentioned that the Department of Homeland Security approved Eswatini citizens for the H2A/H2B visa programs extending US job opportunities to emaSwati while filling a need for workers in the United States, and that Peace Corps Volunteers have returned to work in Eswatini following their nine seven-seven(977)days of COVID related evacuation.
