KWALUSENI:Nozizwe Mulela, the Managing Director of the Eswatini Bank says, the financial institution will increase the sponsorship for the Schools Choral Music Competition that currently stands at Five Hundred Thousand Rands (R500,000.00).

Speaking on Sunday at the University of Eswatini(UNESWA), during the finals of the Schools Music Competition that was won by Vulamasango School, the MD said the Bank was committed to growing the competition even further adding that, they believed such competitions had the potential to transform the lives of the pupils.

“We are aware that the country is faced with numerous challenges such as youth unemployment. Thus we believe that music can be one source of income for our children to earn a decent living and contribute towards the growth of the country’s economy. This competition has seen many success stories, such as that of pupils who participated in it becoming conductors in this very competition, whilst some have commenced to pursue careers in music in neighboring South Africa and overseas,” said the Eswatini Bank Managing Director.

Mulela added the that the Bank had a wide Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Programme “that covers various sectors of the country’s socio-economic sphere. These include education, health, entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation, and other sporadic needs of society”.

As a result, she said the Bank believed in ploughing back to the communities it operates within.

“I therefore encourage your support through the various products and services we offer at Eswatini Bank, including an account for our pupils present here today, Siyakhula Account. This account helps inculcate a culture of saving and generally teaches our youth how to manage a bank account at an early age.  As I speak today, the Siyakhula Account portfolio has over E6 million, which is the total cash deposited by children into their Siyakhula Accounts,” she said.
