LOBAMBA: Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo, a former political activist, almost sabotaged the King’s Sibaya by releasing misleading information suggesting that,King Mswati has approved that the gathering would be held in an open arena amid unfavorable weather conditions.
“Government wishes to advice the nation that proceedings of the meeting at Ludzidzini Royal Residence this morning, will be conducted at the open Arena since Sibaya is obviously wet due to yesterday’s rains,” said the Government Spokesperson.
But information sourced from the Palace suggests that, Nxumalo was not authorized to make the announcement that resulted to confusion.
After Nxumalo’s unauthorized announcement, King’s men that include one Indvuna Mhlambanyatsi and Khandlela Mdluli are alleged to have rushed to the King to verify and further advice that, what was communicated by Nxumalo had never happened in the history of Sibaya.
The King is alleged to have ordered that Sibaya gathering should be held inside the Cattle Byre as per the traditional and/or cultural norm.
“We had to rush to the King to verify and take new orders after the confusion created by Nxumalo. An order was issued that the gathering would be held inside Sibaya.Bantfu bemukeliswa naku kweliphepha lokusha lokutsiwa yi-Financial Times bahlala etukwako,”said one of the King’s men.
A questionnaire was sent to King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On Tuesday, emaSwati gathered at the Ludzidzini Palace Cattle Byre where the King dissolved Parliament.
