MBABANE: Pius Vilakati, the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS) Head of Research has confirmed that their member Sambulo Shongwe was re-arrested on Friday afternoon by the police, shortly after being granted bail by the court.
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Shongwe,a University student, is the Political Educator of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS), he was grabbed by the police at Sidvwashini Prison on a separate charge of assaulting a police officer.
“It’s true, when other comrades went to Sidwashini to submit the bail payment receipt, the warders systematically delayed saying they were waiting for a court document. Thereafter, police emerged and grabbed him to Manzini,” said the CPS Head of Research when speaking to this Swaziland News on Friday afternoon.
