MADLANGEMPHISI: Sibusiso Scorpion Nxumalo, the former Madlangemphisi Member of Parliament(MP),has appealed to residents of his Constituency to be patient, saying a R60million Water Project will commence soon.

Responding to a questionnaire from this Swaziland News, after James Dlamini, a resident of Mzaceni accused the former MP of disappearing after promising residents clean water, Nxumalo maintained that the project was currently going through government procedural processes.

The Mzaceni resident under Madlangemphisi alleged that, they were struggling to access clean and those who can afford, currently pay five-hundred Rands(R500) for the services of water tankers sourcing water from the Nkomanzi river.

“We are struggling to access clean water here at Mzaceni, we had hopes when our former MP met us several times here.Nxumalo promised us clean water before June 2023, but thereafter, our MP disappeared,” said the resident.

But former MP Scorpion Nxumalo when clarifying the matter, said he submitted all proposals to government for the water project that will benefit the entire Madlangemphisi Constituency not only  Mzaceni.

"Yes, we have submitted all proposals to government for the water reticulation for Madlangemphisi Chiefdom not necessarily Mzaceni only. The scheme will cover Madlangemphisi, Mzaceni, Msinda, Nsonta, Dvokolwako, Buhlebuyeza and Manzana. The project costs R60million.We got assistance from Water Aid with the feasibility study and it was submitted to the government's Ministry of Natural Resources," said the former Member of Parliament.
