BOKSBURG: Fikile Mbalula, the Secretary General (SG) of the ruling African National Congress(ANC) says, as an organisation, they stand with the people of eSwatini on their call democracy.
“We shall not retreat on our call for democracy in eSwatini", said the ANC Secretary General when making his closing remarks on Thursday at the Brics Political Parties Dialogue held at Boksburg-South Africa.
Mbalula was recently attacked by the eSwatini Government, through its Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo, who described the ANC Secretary General as confused for labeling the country, as an undemocratic State.
Eswatini is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch, political parties are banned from participating in elections, human rights defenders are killed for demanding democracy.
Recently, lawyer Thulani Maseko, the Chairperson of the pro-democracy MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF) was assassinated allegedly, by Mswati’s mercenaries.
