MATSAPHA: King Mswati has promoted two(2) female senior police officers into the position of Deputy Police Commissioner during the Police Day celebration on Friday.
The King further promoted Vusi Masango as the new Senior Deputy National Commissioner, he is now the second -in-Command within the law enforcement agency.
Other police officers who were promoted to the position of Deputy Commissioner include Bonisile Masuku,Wendy Hleta, Melusi Simelane and Meshack Ntshalintshali.
Reached for comments, Nonhlanhla Dlamini, the Executive Director of the Eswatini Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA), thanked the King for appointing the two(2) female cops as the new Deputy Commissioners.
“We appreciate what the King has done by appointing the two women, this is what we are advocating for, it shouldn’t be only men in positions of authority. Maybe one, can congratulate them and further advise that they must work hard in those positions and inspire other women. Bangasinyudzeli”, said the SWAGAA Director when interviewed by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
