NHLAMBENI: Manzi Zwane, the former vocal Nhlambeni Member of Parliament(MP) has been removed from the voters roll allegedly, by the Elections and Boundaries Commission(EBC) as political tension continue to escalate amid nominations within Tinkhundla Centres across the country.
The removal of the former vocal Nhlambeni MP comes a few hours after the court, dismissed an urgent application filed by pro-democracy aspiring MP Timothy Myeni, who was also disqualified and told by the EBC to go back and contest at Nkilongo.
As a result, voters refused to continue with the nominations at Nhlambeni, after the EBC officials pleaded that, the process must continue pending the consideration of the complaint by the former MP.
Mbonisi Bhembe, the Spokesperson of the Elections Commission had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the former MP confirmed that he was removed from the voters together with twenty-nine(29) others.
“I think they strategically removed me with the other twenty-nine(29) others, just to disguise that they were targeting me,” said the former MP.
