MBABANE: Sikelela Dlamini, the Secretary General of the MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF) says, the coalition welcomes a decision by the newly formed pro-Tinkhundla Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) to withdraw from the eSwatini coalition organization.

SWALIMO, a pro-Tinkhundla system political organization, fighting for an elected Prime Minister under the same system, released a statement, announcing its withdrawal from the coalition amid what they described as bullying.

This comes after their decision to participate in the ongoing Tinkhundla undemocratic elections.

“All organizations reserve the right to join or not to join any organisation.

In this connection, as the MSF we welcome the decision that has been taken by SWALIMO, that of withdrawing from the Swaziland MDM collective. We therefore take this opportunity to wish them well in their future endeavours as they are advancing their own course insofar as the struggle for the attainment of multiparty Democracy in Swaziland is concerned. To all our members, we wish to say the struggle continues and victory is certain”, reads the statement released by the MSF.

On another note, SWALIMO recently encouraged its members to register for the ongoing Tinkhundla undemocratic elections, the decision by pro-Tinkhundla organization, was applauded by the eSwatini government.

In a public statement released on Wednesday, Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson said the ‘highest’ registration numbers, was an indication that emaSwati love the Tinkhundla system.

Nxumalo was responding subsequent to an article published by News24 where a report suggesting that a majority of the citizens were against the Monarchy was quoted.

“The high volume of emaSwati who registered for the national elections should be an indication of how much emaSwati believe in their Tinkhundla system of governance. It is extremely rare for any country to record that level of registration and participation,” said the Government Spokesperson.
