ROSEBANK: William Bird, the Director of the Media Monitoring Africa has urged journalists and editors to ensure that,women voices are not suppressed in the news ahead of the upcoming Provincial and National Elections.
The Media Practitioner was speaking during a Media Training Workshop here at Rosebank-Johannesburg on Tuesday, the Workshop that sought to capacitate journalists on elections reporting, was organized by the Independent Electoral Commission(IEC) of South Africa, the Press Council of South Africa in collaboration with the South African National Editors Forum(SANEF).
”Let’s have more women voices in the news”, said the Director Media Monitoring Africa.
Journalists and editors from the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC),NewsRoom Africa, Daily Maverick and the Sunday Times among others, attended the Media Training.
Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini was also invited to participate in the Media Training.
Eswatini is also holding Parliamentary elections, King Mswati and women rights groups urged voters to consider voting for women as well.
