MANZINI: Melusi Dlamini, the Chairperson of the Swaziland Youth Congress (SWAYOCO) Manzini Branch says Mswati's police visited Moneni uMphakatsi on Thursday to seek clarity why the People's United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) Youth League was allowed to host its thirty-second(32nd) Anniversary.
This comes after the office of the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Themba Masuku, threatened to investigate the participation of children in the Swaziland Youth Congress(SWAYOCO) rally.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Thursday,Dlamini confirmed that, the police visited the Moneni Chiefdom adding that, children were questioned and asked to explain why they were seen at the Moneni Sports Ground during the SWAYOCO rally.
"The police visited Moneni Chiefdom this morning.They wanted to know who granted SWAYOCO permission to host the rally at the Sports Ground. They even questioned the children who were spotted during the SWAYOCO rally," said the SWAYOCO Chairperson.
A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Speaking to this Swaziland News this week, Sakhile Awviva Nxumalo, the President of the PUDEMO Youth League urged the DPM to investigate the circumstances surrounding the children who are always behind Indlovukazi as ritual slaves, if he was really concern about the welfare of children in the country.
