MBABANE: Prince Mhlabuhlangene, the Chairman of the Elections and Boundaries Commission(EBC) says, as the Commission, they will continue to ensure that the ongoing elections are conducted in a transparent manner and with utmost integrity.

The Chairman was responding to this Swaziland News on Wednesday morning, after some nominees contacted this publication expressing happiness after the Commission, for the first time, introduced ‘same-day’ counting for special votes thus reducing chances of alleged vote rigging and suspicions by almost one-hundred percent(100%), the feedback was then forwarded to the Elections Commission Chairman.

“Hlubi as I had indicated previously, that, our endeavor as the country’s Elections Management Body (EMB) in this general election is to be transparent as possible and progress in efficiency, given that, these variables should deliver, greater confidence and integrity in the country’s general national election processes in line with the dictates of regional and international agreed upon best practice standards for democratic elections, even in a Monarchical Sovereignty political jurisdiction such as in our case, the Kingdom of Eswatini. The feedback from the ‘fourth estate’ is indeed much appreciated, as indeed everybody works to build and shape for the best, domestically and globally, the sovereign identity of Emaswati Lamahle Nkhosi,"  said the Elections Commission Chairman in a message sent to this journalist.

Civil servants voted on Tuesday in a Special Voting, results were announced immediately after the counting that was conducted in full view of the nominees.

This means, unlike before, there would be no expected suspicious boxes, full of votes that will emerge from ‘somewhere’ disguised as ‘special votes’.
