MBABANE: Penuel Malinga, the Secretary General (SG)of the People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) has on behalf of the organisation, written a submission to the Commonwealth Observer Mission (COM), presenting its augmented path to a durable solution in the country through a peaceful negotiated settlement.
“The People's United Democratic Movement, PUDEMO, extends her appreciation to the Commonwealth Secretary-General for deploying a Commonwealth Elections Observer Mission (COM) to the 2023 National Elections in the Kingdom of Eswatini, and most importantly for permitting the COM to meet with Political Parties, particularly PUDEMO - a proscribed 40-year old political party, which is unjustly listed as a Terrorist Entity by the Eswatini Government, under the notorious Suppression of Terrorism Act, 2008 as Amended," reads the submission in part written by the Secretary General of PUDEMO to the Commonwealth Observer Mission.
The Commonwealth Observer Mission has been observing Tinkhundla elections since 2003, thus making it the fifth(5th) time that the body will be observing elections in the Kingdom, the Tinkhundla Secondary Elections are scheduled to take place this coming Friday.
