MBABANE: King Mswati has appointed Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze as the Acting Prime Minister.

This comes after Cabinet Ministers including the Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini’s term of office came to an end on Wednesday, the appointment of Gamedze, the Chief Executive Officer in the King’s Office, was announced by Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Khumalo on Thursday during a press conference held at Ludzidzini Palace.

The AG further announced that,the King “has summoned” the Nation to Sibaya on the 23rd October 2023.

“The King has also commanded me to announce that, as the term of office for the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers has ended, Executive powers will be temporarily be upon the Chief Officer until the next government takes over.Principal Secretaries are advised to contact the Chief Officer if there’s anything that needs approval”, said the Attorney General(AG).
