MBABANE: Penuel Malinga, the Secretary General(SG) of the People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) has, on behalf of the political organization, released a statement condemning the assault of incarcerated pro-democracy Member of Parliament(MP) Bacede Mabuza by King Mswati’s warders.
Mabuza, was on Friday assaulted by over one hundred(100) recruits and drunkards who drink alcohol at the Matsapha Prison Bar, after an order allegedly issued by the Commissioner General of the Correctional Services, in the process the MP was badly injured, denied medical care and food for two(2) days.
“As PUDEMO, we painfully remind the nation of the fatal brutality unleashed on innocent citizens, who include amongst many; Sipho Jele, Luciano Zavhale, Fikile Fakudze-Mamba, Mthokozisi Mamba, Mphikeleli Mabuza, Mandla Mathousand Ngubeni, Mjomane Msibi, Musa Gamedze, Sonnyboy Mthandeni Mamba and Sibusiso German Matsebula, just to name a few. PUDEMO stands with former MP Mabuza, his family and the peace loving and democracy yearning people of Swaziland. As a revolutionary movement, we are committed to supporting all inmates who are encountering daily abuses in the hands of Correctional Officers, irrespective of charges preferred against them," reads the statement in part released by the PUDEMO Secretary General.
