MBABANE: Bankole Adeoye, the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union(AU) Election Observation Mission says, the Tinkhundla Parliamentary elections that were held on Friday were peaceful free and free.
The Commissioner was delivering a report on behalf of the AU during a press conference held at the Hilton Hotel in Mbabane on Sunday morning.
“The Mission noted with satisfaction that the 2023 elections took place generally in a peaceful, free and fair climate, notwithstanding the existence of some political divisions.The electoral was firmly within the framework of respect for the electoral rights of citizens on the one hand, and the candidates in the running, on the other hand," said the AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security.
