MBABANE: Businessman Ndumiso Mdluli,the former Senate Deputy President allegedly spent over R1million to win a Senate seat, he is now pushing to be appointed into Cabinet.
Information in our possession suggests that the former Deputy Senate President whose business supplies schools with working equipment, was targeting to have at least over twenty(20) Members of Parliament(MPs) on his side in case some betray him.
Aspiring Senators were required to have at least twelve(12) votes to win a Senate seat.
It has been disclosed that, the businessman supported some aspiring MPs with funds and material like water pipes for projects within their communities but unfortunately, some of his network of aspiring MPs lost the elections, he had to fork-out over fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00) for each MP to remain in the race to the House of Senate.
Part of the details surrounding the campaign of the former Senate Deputy President cannot be revealed to protect our sources who are very close to businessman.
Reached for comments, the former Senate Deputy President who was re-elected by the House of Assembly denied the allegations, he said he won fairly.
“It’s not true Hlubie,I won fairly and it’s better to contact labo labebabuke lomsebenti”, he said.
The House of Assembly voted for ten(10) Senators on Thursday, five(5) were women and five(5) men.
