OPINION: Your Sibaya analyses on former Economic Planning Minister Dr Thambo Gina’s political violence statement is misinformed Mr Editor.

Tuesday, 31st October, 2023

While your obviously new perspective and approach to using violence, threats and intimidation for political purposes is applauded, however, your attack to former Minister of Economic Planning Dr Tambo Gina for his use of the word “gun" clearly demonstrates lack of understanding of the feeling of having been threatened with the same merely for one's political views and political participation.

Dr Gina celebrated his parliamentary victory at Lubulini Inkhundla in the confinement of his house in compliance with the advice of the police of genuine threats to Gina's life after gunmen were spotted around the area supposedly enquiring about his whereabouts.

You should know better how it feels to be under constant threats for no crime except your political views and opinions and participation.

Dr Gina's submission should be understood from that background. You, yourself Mr Editor, you were celebrating in a series of articles on how the so - called “Solidarity Forces” were after my own life after I have reported threats to the national police service.

You, yourself, Mr Editor, photographed my car while parked in front of Molly's restaurant in Mbabane and splashed the pictures of my personal car on social media. If this was not an act of inciting violence, then I don't what it is.

So, while you pointing one finger towards Dr Gina; remember four(4)if your five(5) fingers are pointing towards you, yourself Mr Editor.

Therefore, you not being genuine at attacking Dr Gina on his "gun" statement but you are only ramping up a toxic and polarized debate on politics and violence. You are not arguing from the point of principle but of political expediency. If violence should not be a tool to do politics for one; then it should be for the rest of us.

Otherwise, your latest views on politics and violence Mr Editor, if they were to be presumed genuine, they are most welcomed but they must apply to all of us not just some of us.

Thank you again, for allowing me space to express myself on your platform Mr Editor.
