COVID-19 CRISIS: Government speed-up renovations for CODEC quarantine centre

MBABANE: Dr Simon Zwane, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health said government was speeding up the renovations for CODEC Quarantine Centre. 

Speaking to this Swaziland News, the PS said after the renovations, government will provide about 160 beds to be used by eMaswati who tested positive to COVID-19. 

"As it is, the Mavuso Trade Centre is the known designated area for isolation in Manzini. Our facility in Manzini is full to capacity and we are also looking at ways to expand to other halls, add more beds and more equipment that will enable our health practitioners to execute their dutiesWork is underway to ensure beds and all the things needed are available. We are looking at getting 160 beds for Emaswati who have tested positive, not for those who are sick because it is solely for isolation" he added. 
According to Zwane, they are still working on facelifting the facility, fixing ablutions, touchups here and there. 
"We are nearing completion.I believe that over the weekend, we would have made considerable progress" he further noted.
